Stray Animals FAQs

What to do if you find a stray animal

What should I do if I find a stray animal?

Call the closest vet and advise what’s happened and you will likely be told to bring the animal down to be scanned for a microchip and they will thus try to get in contact with the owner.

What happens if the animal doesn't have a microchip?

If the animal doesn’t have a microchip it is not the vet’s responsibility to keep the animal UNLESS it is injured. The animal ideally will need to be taken to the local RSPCA (there are cages with water that the animals can be left in).
