What to do if your pet falls ill or injures themselves outside our business hours?
Dapto Veterinary Clinic has an after hours emergency service for all pets of the Illawarra. In order to ensure you receive the best quality veterinary care with the best health outcomes possible, we have partnered with ARH Wollongong (Animal Referral Hospital). This enables us to provide a 24-7 service to cater for after hours emergencies, without affecting the quality of care provided on a day-day basis (our Vets and Nurses need their sleep to ensure we can continue to deliver the highest level of care!). ARH provides your Dapto Vet Clinic veterinarian with an after hours history report in the event this service needs to be used.
Reasons why you might need to contact us for an after hours emergency include:
- Paralysis ticks
- Overheating
- Snake bites
- Excessive vomiting or diarrhoea
- Vomiting blood
- Weakness, fatigue or collapsing
- Ingesting of poisons such as: rat or snail bait, human medication, excessive chocolate
- Trauma such as being hit by a car, been in a dog or cat fight
- Abdominal bloating
- Excessive pain
